The Male Reproductive System
The organs of the male reproductive system work together in order to deliver the other half of the genetic data necessary to produce offspring. The system includes the scrotum, the testes, epididymius, the penis, the prostate, the vas defrens, and the urethra.
Male Reproductive System Helath
There are many ways to keep yourself healthy, and for men, that includes the health of the reproductive system. One way to be sure that this particular system is healthy is to do a STE or a Self Testicular Exam. By doing this, you help to catch any abnormalities befire they escalate into something that is extremely unmanageable such as testicular cancer. Here is how you preform a self exam:
1) Hold your penis out of the way and check one testicle at a time
2) Hold the testicle between your thumbs and fingers of both hands and roll it gently between your fingers
3) Look and feel for any hard lumps or smooth rounded bumps or any change in the size, shape, or consistency of the testicles
If, during your exam, you do find something abnormal you should see a doctor immediately.
Keeping the male reproductive system safe from harm is also important. Avoiding blunt trauma to the pelvic area can help to avoid testicular trauma. Practicing safe sexual activities such as using condoms correctly and not being promiscuous can lower, but not eliminate, the pissibility of contracting an STD such as HIV/AIDS, chlamydia, or genial herpes.
